The Dream Starter Fund · powered by Brightwire Labs

Helping new local businesses get their start.

10% of Dream Team Consulting sales goes into the Dream Starter Fund. It funds free help for small businesses that are just opening or in their first two years, here in the Methow Valley and across North Central Washington. Every grant is tailored to the business it serves.

What it is

When one business hires us, a new one gets a hand.

The first couple of years are when good businesses stumble for fixable reasons: no website, missed calls, no time to answer the same five questions, no one to talk the numbers through with.

The Dream Starter Fund is our way of giving back. We set aside 10% of our sales and use it to do real Dream Team work, for free, for owners who are just getting started. Same people, same written scope, same care as a paid project.

Program highlights

The short version.

Real services, at no cost

Recipients get the same kind of work our paying clients get, tailored to each business's needs and qualifications.

Founder-led

Dominick and Tarah review every application and do the work themselves. No hand-off to a junior team.

Written down

Every grant gets a one-page scope, so you know exactly what your grant covers. You own your site, accounts, and data.

Funded by every project

10% of Dream Team Consulting sales goes into the Fund. Every client is part of it.

Rolling review

Apply or nominate any time. There are no deadlines or application windows; Dominick and Tarah vet each one as it comes in.

Rooted here

Small towns run on small businesses. Every new shop, crew, or kitchen that makes it helps the whole valley.

Who qualifies

Built for businesses just starting out.

We want the Fund to go where it will matter most. If your business fits these six, we would love to hear from you.

  1. New in business

You've been open less than two years, or you're opening within the next six months.

  2. Local to us

Your business is based in the Methow Valley or North Central Washington.

  3. Small and owner-run

You run it yourself, with about 10 or fewer employees.

  4. A real need

You can't yet afford these services, and the help would make a clear difference for your business.

  5. Ready to take part

You'll join a kickoff call with us, and afterward share your feedback or a short testimonial.

  6. One grant per business

Each business can receive one Dream Starter Fund grant, so the Fund can reach as many new owners as possible.

How it's funded

10% of Dream Team Consulting sales is set aside in the Dream Starter Fund. There are no outside donations and no application fees. When a business hires Dream Team, part of that work helps a brand-new local business get started.

There is no fixed grant size or set package. We determine each grant's size and the services included based on the individual needs and qualifications of the business, and on how much has been set aside in the Fund at the time.

What's included

What a grant may include.

Every grant is tailored. We decide the grant size and the services included based on your business's individual needs and qualifications, and on what the Fund holds at the time. Depending on what fits, a grant may include services like these:

  1. Strategy session

A working session on the offer, pricing, customers, and the few numbers that tell you if the month is working.

  2. Starter website

A simple, phone-friendly site that states the service, shows the people, and gives a visitor one clear next step.

  3. Missed-call and lead follow-up

Callers and web-form leads get a quick reply from your business, so early customers don't go to the next name on the list.

  4. AI assistant

An assistant trained on your hours, services, and policies that answers the repeat questions. You approve what it can say.

  5. Getting found locally

Search (SEO) basics and help setting up your Google and Facebook presence, so people in your town find you when they look for what you do.

  6. Booking and restaurant help

A simple booking or request flow, or menu, food-cost, and service-rhythm help for a new food business.

These are examples, not a fixed menu. Your grant is put together for your business and written down in a one-page scope before any work starts.

Apply or nominate

Tell us about the business.

Fill out the form to apply for your own business or to nominate one you believe in. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis as they come in, with no deadlines or application windows. Dominick and Tarah personally vet each one and follow up with a conversation.

  1. Send the form. A few lines on the business, when it started, and what's stuck.
  2. We talk. A short conversation to understand the business and what would help most.
  3. Written scope and kickoff. If selected, you get a one-page scope of the free work, and we start with a kickoff call together.
  4. We build it with you. You see drafts before anything goes live. When it's done, you share your feedback or a short testimonial.
